Laura Guglielmi, starting from the suggestions of the writer’s texts, traces an unprecedented itinerary in time and space. She recounts the Sanremo of Italo Calvino (on the centenary of the birth of the great Sanremo writer). What emerges in this text is not only a geographic-literary itinerary, but also the ecological soul of Italo Calvino, who as early as the 1950s told of a wacky Barone Rampante who believed in the rights of animals and trees. Calvino in ‘Building Speculation’ sketched an Italy that was getting rich without any respect for the environment. And this book brings to light the wounds inflicted on the land from the Second World War to the present day.
