Museums and Territory: the Province of Savona in view of the candidature as ‘Capital of Culture 2027

Following the introductory round table of 13 January, on “The museum as a factor of social cohesion and civil growth of a community”, which had seen the participation of Fulvio Cervini, Christian Greco, Michele Lanzinger and Massimiliano Caldera, a second meeting will be held on Friday 21 June (Sala Rossa del Palazzo Comunale, 3.00-6.30 p.m. 30) a second meeting on the theme ‘Museums and territory: the Province of Savona in view of its candidacy as ‘Capital of Culture 2027’, chaired by Prof. Fabrizio Benente, Professor and Pro-rector of the University of Genoa, former scientific director of the Museum of Sestri Levante (MuSel) and of the Polo Archeominerario di Castiglione Chiavarese (MuCast).
After the speeches by the Mayor Marco Russo and the Councillor for Culture Nicoletta Negro. Alessandra Guerrini (Director of the Regional Museums Directorate), Federico Barello (Superintendent SABAP IM-SV), Franca Acerenza (President of ICOM Liguria) and representatives of the Museums of the Province of Savona will take part in the meeting with introductory speeches.
The aim of the initiative is to take stock of the current situation of the Province’s museum system in order to bring together the various realities in the area to optimise them in view of the important 2027 event.
